Milan Design Week, the world's ultimate design event has kicked off, and we're here with live coverage straight from ground zero – from April 15th to 21st. Stay tuned for exclusive previews of new designs, innovations, installations, events, and emerging trends.

Here are some highlights from Day 1 & 2!

We covered brands like Molteni, Pianca, Reflex, Bonaldo who launched their new collections. Molteni&C Celebrates 90 years of the culture of quality living. A brand that has evolved since 1934. Along with the new collection launches, there were some re-interpretation pieces from the Heritage collection by Gio Ponti presented at the booth. Other highlights include Pianca's iconic Peonia sofa in new avatar. Reflex's extraordinary dining table in Venetian crystal style manipulated into art. Bonaldo's new dining table in wood and travertine finish.

At Tortona District, some of the major highlights include the Lexus exhibition - 'Beyond the Horizon' by Hideki Yoshimoto/Tangent and also one of the interesting installations - the INAHO, stems of golden ears of rice swaying in the wind. Light is cast in dots, reminiscent of paddy rice. Sensors embedded in the base of the installation which cause the stems to sway as a person passes by. 'Hong Chul Wonderland' - a fun, immersive artwork project seen in Tortona District by the visionary Spanish artist Okuda San Miguel, to promote Korean colour specialists - NOROO Group. The Ugly Duck (TUD) - an international brand based in Dubai that creates limited edition collectible art toys, presented a fresh perspective on the intersection of art and interior design. Music to your eyes. Preciosa at Opificio 31 with a dazzling display of light and music, every suspended crystal “pixel” invites you to take a graphic journey back in time while staying timeless. The customisable installation takes hand blown cubes and suspends them in illuminated gridded structure.

Other exciting installations in the city include "We are Dreamers”, an immersive experience by Milanese designers Elena and Giulia Sella located in Piazza San Babila, that invites one to dream big and celebrates the beauty of nature that surrounds us. A rainbow sculpture stands out in the cityscape as a symbol of wonder and positivity. All'Origine - a curated selection of over 5000 European mid-century originals. Showcased in a pop-up store style hosted by Otto Studio and Paola Navone. Dream Up' is a visionary dream of NickMaltese Studio exhibited with an immersive experience in the universe of dreams and artistic visions. A surreal coral forest grows in an urban context, symbolizing the global warming drama. This representation highlights the serious consequences on the natural world, often overturning expectations and challenging usual consuetudines.
