Day 6 & 7 at MDW 2025: The Quiet Impact of Great Design

As Milan Design Week 2025 reached its crescendo, the city buzzed with ideas exploring our connection to space, material, and nature. This year's theme, “Mondi Connessi” or Connecting Worlds came alive at MDW2025 through cross-cultural collaborations and boundary-blurring designs that bridged global perspectives.

Here are a few moments that stayed with us:

DAY 6
Inspired by Ruffino’s Riserva Ducale Oro, the project returns with a renewed vision—where the table becomes a stage for wine, design, and creativity.

Against War. 7 Designers for Emergency at Triennale Design Museum presents EMERGENCY’s unwavering stance against conflict, brought to life through deeply evocative objects created by seven designers invited by Giulio Iacchetti.

Natuzzi’s Memoria bed by Karim Rashid fuses Italian craftsmanship with smart innovation, offering motorised headrests and footrests for tailored comfort.

Meet Mooove by Koinor – winner of the German Design Award 2025 – a sculptural sofa that splits into two swivel, rock, and glide-ready seats, all controlled by two intuitive levers.

DAY 7
Since the 1970s, Ezpeleta’s beach umbrellas and terrace parasols have been a staple of Spanish leisure. As they mark their 90th anniversary, they carry forward a lasting legacy in outdoor living.

Ugo Rondinone’s summer moon, cold moon, spring moon, singing moon (2011) was part of his long-running series of white-painted aluminum olive tree sculptures.

A crowd favorite at the Koinor booth, the Phoenix sofa offers versatile seating styles with adjustable headrests, seats, and armrests - designed to rotate, swivel, and move.

Disguised as an armchair, Paradis Moon by Fama reveals a hidden bed - blending comfortable seating with a plush retreat.

The final showcase - a heartfelt close to a week of reflection, reinvention, and reconnection.

As Milan Design Week 2025 wraps, one truth stands tall: great design doesn’t just shape objects - it reshapes how we live, feel, and connect. Materia Natura reminded us that the future lies in harmony -  with nature, with material, with meaning.
