What to Expect at Milan Design Week 2024

The world's premier design event, Milan Design Week, is poised to captivate the global design community and transform the city into a vibrant epicentre of creativity and innovation. The 62nd edition of the event will take place from April 15th to 21st, bringing beautiful and fascinating creations back onto a uniquely important international stage, and in doing so, set the stage for unparalleled experiences and shape the trajectory of design for years to come.

This celebrated gathering is subdivided into two distinct yet harmonious contexts.

1. Salone del Mobile.Milano

At the heart of the extraordinary Milan Design Week lies the Salone del Mobile, a global platform where design enthusiasts, architects, and visionaries converge at the Rho fairgrounds to unveil their latest masterpieces. This hallowed ground serves as a canvas for the future of design, showcasing cutting-edge furniture, lighting, and interior solutions that push the boundaries of form, function, and aesthetics.

This year’s theme, 'Where Design Evolves,' indicates a strong focus on innovation and progress, promising an immersive experience like no other, all thanks to a multitude of exhibits and events that celebrate the evolutionary nature of design.

The Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024 encompasses a diverse array of exhibits, including:

Salone Internazionale del Mobile: The renowned international furniture exhibition showcases the finest in contemporary design and craftsmanship.

International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition: A curated display of exquisite furnishing accessories that elevate interior spaces.

Workplace3.0: A dedicated platform exploring the future of workspace design and innovation.

S.Project: A space devoted to a comprehensive showcase of innovative design products, as well as decorative and technical interior design solutions for the modern home.

EuroCucina with FTK - Technology For the Kitchen: An event dedicated to built-in domestic appliances, hoods, and cutting-edge kitchen technology.

International Bathroom Exhibition: A showcase of the latest trends and forward-thinking solutions in bathroom design.

SaloneSatellite: A platform for promising designers and young talents under 35, fostering the next generation of design visionaries.

2. Fuorisalone

Complementing the Salone del Mobile is the Fuorisalone, a vibrant tapestry of off-site exhibitions, installations, and events that bring life to the streets of Milan. This parallel universe of design exploration allows visitors to immerse themselves in a multitude of creative expressions, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the transformative power of design.

Unlike the centralised Salone del Mobile, the Fuorisalone is a decentralised phenomenon, with events and exhibitions scattered throughout the city, drawing designers, architects, students, and professionals from around the world.

Fuorisalone further elevates the Milan Design Week with a dedicated map on fuorisalone.it. This constantly updated resource acts as a bridge between the city's design events and the Salone del Mobile experience. Visitors can effortlessly navigate between venues, ensuring they don't miss a beat and maximising their design exploration during Milan Design Week.
